Thank you for taking the time to make this wonderful project a reality, year in and year out. Sadly, we too often see political ideologies and content expressing opinions on current events seep into the content presented on the platforms of other Islamic influencers. While all content can find its appropriate niche on the Internet, the content that is provided in the 30-day Ramadan Challenge (for both youth and adults) is wonderfully Quran-focused and exceptionally on point for participants from all backgrounds. As a first-generation Canadian Muslim parent living in a multi-cultural, non-Muslim community, I can attest that the 30-day Ramadan Challenge is a wonderful Islamic supplemental educational tool that parents can comfortably enjoy with the entire family. It is so refreshing to be able to access and enjoy Islamic educational content without needing to “pre-screen” or pause the video during the viewing to provide children with “contextual explanations”. – April 2023

Jazakallah khair for such a wonderful initiative. This is the first time I participated in the Ramadan Challenge and Mashallah!!! I totally enjoyed it. Wish I knew about it before. I have literally no words for Shiekh Newman .. My 8 yr old son has such a short attention span but the way the sheikh narrated the stories and kept the videos short, my son enjoyed it immensely too from start to finish and literally asked me each day if the video was up.. Lol. – April 2023

Ayira K. (Age: 14 – Surrey BC)

It was very fun and easy to do! I learned a lot from this challenge and particularly enjoyed the videos about the grammar breakdown, the involvement of numbers, and other things lost in translation. The challenge was a pleasure; it made me think deeply about the Qur’aan
(tadabbur) and taught me so much! May Allah help you keep doing what you do ❤ May Allah bless everyone else behind the scenes of this challenge! – April 2023

Malak A. (Age: 12 – Vancouver BC)

I loved this program. I benefited a lot, not only did I enjoy it, and being a knowledge lover I had to dive especially since if it was Islamic knowledge that I was gettin’. Sometimes didn’t get the question right but, I still learned an astronomical amount, I learned that all of Allah (SWT)’s words are calculated, and all the aftermath is done he weighs his words wisely and thoughtfully. Each letter counts. I also got a review about the prophet stories. Moreover, I got to teach my Muslim friends and my family. – April 2023

As the years go on, the Ramadan Challenge continues to get better and better, and 2023 was no different! The daily videos narrated by Sh. Ihsaan Newman have visibly increased in quality this year, which makes the viewing experience more enjoyable. The professional editing of the videos is also at a higher standard than last year, and adds so much more to the experience. May Allah accept the efforts of the entire team working on the Ramadan Challenge, and may all of our rewards and Du’as be accepted this Ramadan, InShaAllah. – April 2023 (Voted #1)

Maryam B. (Age: 32 – Surrey BC)

I learned more about Islam during the short videos then any lecture I heard. I took notes for future reminders.

My sisters, nephew and nieces are also participating and this made an awesome subject to talk about. We would often ask if they knew that fact before, or did they how cool the information given is.

I am also so happy and heart warmed to see how many muslims participated. And thankful for the Islamic sponsors who made it possible. It makes a nice sense of community. InshaAllah, I will encourage others to join next year and will like to donate as well. A little goes a long way. JazakAllah! – April 2022

Reem A. (Age: 41 London ON)

I must say that I looked forward to it each morning and made it a part of my daily Ramadan routine. I can honestly say that there is no shortage of Ramadan videos to choose from, by various speakers and Imams. However I feel like most of them are great motivational reminders. With this series, I can honestly say that I learned something new from the Quran each day. That is what I motivated me to continue throughout the month. Not the gift cards lol, but it’s a nice incentive and friendly competition. It would be more motivating for myself though to have a chance to win a trip to umrah or other Islamic prizes as well, but I guess it’s good to have a variety because different things motivate different people, and at the end of the day we want people to benefit. – April 2022

Amira M. (Age: 16 – Victoria BC)

I enjoyed doing the competition each day and every day; I was amazed at how much I learned over the span of 3- 7 minutes. I would really like to thank you for this fantastic opportunity. It really brought me closer to my siblings and made us connect while learning about the beautiful gems of the Quran. These competitions brought excitement and engagement for the whole month within my household. I realized that the Quran was more than what we read during salat; it was a gem sent from our Rabb to guide us and show us our amazing deen’s true beauty and magnificence. I found myself excited, looking forward to watching the videos each day and sharing this incredible knowledge and wisdom I learned with my family. I was genuinely amazed and how much I had learned so far this Ramadan, and it made me ponder more over the words I recite each day. – April 2022

Jana B. (Age: 15 – Edmonton AB)

Honestly speaking, this competition has encouraged me to work on and strengthen my iman this Ramadan because of the constant reminders of Allah’s greatness and his love and mercy for us. I’ve never felt more at peace and an eagerness to jump to salah at the sound of the adhan than I did during this past month. I pray that I continue to experience this beautiful feeling of comfort everyday, inshallah. With the help of this competition and its organizers, I have been able to build on my iman, so inshallah infinite blessings for the amazing team who brought this competition to life! – April 2022

Majda R. (Age: 16 – Victoria BC)

Before Ramadan, I made dua that Allah increases me in knowledge throughout this blessed month, and that I may leave this month applying the knowledge he has taught me in my life. Through this competition, Allah has answered a big part of that dua. I have learned so much about the beauty of the Quran and the magnificence of Allah’s words. My love for the Quran only grows stronger and shines brighter after every video from the Quran gems series, and the quizzes after the videos allow me to see how much I have learned within such a short time. This is my 3rd year enrolled in this competition, and I have seen that with every passing year the competition just gets better and better and the effort put in is so evident. Big thank you to everyone who has put in their time to make this possible. Your not only making a competition for people to learn from and have fun, but you are growing the love, interest, and bond with the Quran in all hearts that take part. May Allah accept all your efforts and reward you immensely, Ameen. Looking forward to next year’s competition Insha’Allah! – April 2022 (Voted #1)

I love the way this quiz is formatted; it is identical to the way it was last year. I enjoyed the competition this Ramadan as much as I did last year. When a speaker is as good as Sh. Ihsaan, it makes me and the other contestants feel motivated enough to come back to the quiz everyday, and attempt the questions.
It is evident that a lot of hard work and dedication goes into preparing each question, so a special thank you to whoever created those… – May 2021 (Voted #1)

I would suggest to record all the talks during Taraweeh so that people who missed them have a chance to listen to them and they can forward to all family and friends so that everyone can gain some knowledge. And keep continuing to do quizzes and talks in the Masjid during Taraweeh. – July 2014

Ahmad A. (Age: 9)

Please make the questions easier, thank you in advance. – July 2014

Nawal H.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the efforts that you did this year in Ramadan. It was amazing! I was hesitant and worried to come to taraweeh prayer with my kids. I am pleased to tell you that my kids were very excited and preparing for the taraweeh everyday. I was threatening my kids to punish them by not taking them to taraweeh prayer if they are not behaving at home and they will start crying and soliciting to go…. – July 2014 (Voted #1)

Batool S.

I think this Ramadan’s program was one of the best I have experienced in North America. I really liked the focus on diversity by providing tangible elements that the community can experience. This includes the different Qira’at of the Quran, Kids and Adults quiz, 8 and 20 rak3at for taraweeh, young and adult prayer leaders, and variety of food for iftar as well 🙂 – August 2014
